Performance
Thermally toughened HST glass:
- Is highly resistant to thermal stress. It can withstand differences in temperature of approximately 200°C
- Has a much higher level of mechanical strength and is more resistant to shocks than annealed glass. Thermally toughened HST glass is resistant to breakage due to bending of at least 120 N/mm²; for certain types of glasses, these values can be different (patterned glass 90 N/mm² and enamelled glass 75 N/mm²)
- Breaks into small, blunt pieces as per the relevant requirements. Thermally toughened HST glass is always a safety glass in certain applications. Its usage always depends on the application and local regulations
- Please contact your local supplier for the relevent classification
- Toughenable Magnetron coatings should be toughened to achieve the desired performance (fragmentation, optical, Ug value)
- The light, thermal and energy performance of thermally toughened glasses is exactly the same
Finishing
- Edge finishing Toughened HST glasses can be supplied with several edge finishings such as:
- Arrissed edges
- Ground edges but some bright areas permitted
- Ground edges but no bright areas
- Polished edges
- Other possible finishings
- Holes
- Notches
- Cutting
